“ I didn't have any experience with this cuisine, but Chris was thrilled when he found it not too far from the conference hotel. Having experience with Thai, Indian, and Chinese foods, I had at least a familiarity with some of the styles of the food but was still pleasantly surprised. The venue isn't large and I wouldn't take a large group there. But it was great for us. And they were patient at us walking in 40 minutes before closing and ordering a big meal. In my opinion, you're in for a treat. Highly recommended. ”

“ We usually do deliveroo take outs from this restaurant. Decided to walk in today. Walked passed a few other restaurants but this one seems a little more authentic than the rest. What we ordered: Starters: Wonton soup (recommended) - mice pork and shrimp wrapped in wonton skin cooked in broth. Served with vegetables This makes a good starter. I'm a big fan of wontons, and they make them really well. Just the right amount of ingredients and mix btwn the shrimp and pork. Some of the wontons you get in order Chinese restaurants can be slightly tasteless. So this is legit. Mains: 1) SiChuan stir fried spicy chicken - stir fried with hot chili oil, dried Chili and bell peppers It's spicy. Fo'real. If you decide to try this, make sure you tell them to give you breast meat. This would have been great if the chicken pieces were bigger and didn't have that much bones. It was slightly annoying that every piece had tiny bones you had to spit out. It made the entire dish less enjoyable. 2) Mince pork with black fungus (recommend) - stir fried with chili oil, spring onions and ginger. This doesn't taste as spicy as it looks. It's actually not that spicy at all (then again I'm Asian). It has a good mix of sour, I guess it's from the vinegar. Very tasty and nicely done. 3) French beans with mince pork - stir fried with garlic I'd skip this. The beans were over cooked and dry. Shriveled looking sad skinny twigs. Get something else. Price is reasonable for Chinese food and the portions are huge. Service was good, very quick and efficient. Didn't have to wait too long. Don't be intimidated to walk in, they speak fluent English haha. They say if a Chinese restaurant has all the Asians in it, it's probably an authentic Chinese restaurant haha. ”

“ Another very good meal here. As a previous reviewer mentioned, prices have gone up slightly but not by much. The prices on the website are not correct. Our crab was £16, not £26. We had a great meal. As usual p, we ordered the spicy crab. This never comes out the same, for whatever reason, but it is always good. Loads of dried chilies and Sichuan peppercorns tempered by bamboo shoots and celery. I suspect the crab was not live when prepared but it was still good. General Guan's Beef was excellent. The beef was battered and deep fried and then cooked with onions, dried chilli and sichuan Peppercorns. Absolutely delicious. We also had the traditional green beans with pork mince. Always a great standard. I also love that is restaurant always has a large Chinese clientele. For a restaurant so off the Chinese beaten path, it's a great find. ”
